The virtual meeting, scheduled for June 14 at 6 p.m., will include small group discussions, surveys and polls. The redesign of Everette DeGolyer and Albert C. Black elementary schools will also be discussed at the meeting.

“We recognize the importance of getting community input early in the design phase so that we are better able to meet and exceed expectations throughout the design and construction process,” said Brent Alfred, the deputy chief of construction services.

Geneva Heights is one of 11 schools slated for replacement through Proposition A of the Bond 2020 program, approved in November. The bond allocates $3.2 billion for repairs and upgrades to more than 200 DISD campuses in addition to the replacement schools.

After these school design charettes, teams will share the school designs with the community and ask for their feedback.
