If you pass through North Dallas from time to time, you may have seen — or even tried — the Raising Cane’s chicken tender restaurant at the northwest corner of Campbell and Coit. The growing chain has three other area restaurants in Irving, Lewisville and Plano. Now, the never-occupied Washington Mutual bank building just south of Central Market on Greenville and Lovers has been torn down to make way for our very own Raising Cane’s, according to the DMN. I’ve eaten at the one up north a few times, and the tenders are pretty good. I will say that it seems like the kind of place you’ll find guys enjoying more than women — to me, it felt like a cross between McDonald’s and Buffalo Wild Wings. In other Wa-Mu building news, the DMN also reports that a QuikTrip will be taking the place of another never-opened bank building on Skillman north of Northwest Highway near the Home Depot.
