The City of Dallas will be shutting down a small portion of Abrams this weekend to install a new Katy Trail bridge, the second to built to improve accessibility on the popular pedestrian path.

Abrams will be closed to traffic between Patrick and Trammel from 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, until 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24.

Traffic traveling through the neighbors will be detoured to Mockingbird Lane, Skillman Street and Lovers Lane. Those who live in the affected neighborhood will still be able to access their homes, but should expect the din of construction and floodlights as work continues throughout the night.

“For the second time we appreciate the patience from commuters and those who live in the area,” says Public Works Director Rick Galceran in a statement. “The Skillman Street Bridge was completed two weeks ago without a glitch and we’re again planning for a smooth process this weekend with the Abrams Road installation.”

However, the wet weather predicted this weekend could delay the project. Check back here for updates.
