Dear Mr. Porky T. Pothole Pig,

You will be pleased to know that we received your request and repairs were made on May 31, 2016.  Due to this same location having multiple pavement failures, we are assessing the area further to see if there is underlying damage.  If underlying damage is found, we will make the necessary repairs to address the problem.

 Thank you for your concerns.

 Best Regards,

 Celena Rivers | Manager – District 4

City of Dallas | Department of Street Services

ORIGINAL POST: Sinkholes are in the news these days, and Porky found a neighborhood mini-sinkhole at Mockingbird and Abrams in the middle of the northbound lanes about even with the Subway restaurant. (Thanks to Nora Jones for braving traffic with Porky to take this photo.)

There’s not a whole lot to say about this one: If you look at the picture, you can tell it’s trouble. Over the weekend, some cones were placed in the pothole to warn motorists, but the cones have disappeared and there’s no evidence of work being done, either.

As always, we’ve reported this pothole to the City’s 311 online portal; the report number is 16-00251739, if you want to follow along. The City’s portal promises a response to the initial report in three days, with a service followup five days later.
