In a rare bright spot for 2020, the chorale rock band The Polyphonic Spree has released new music for the first time in years.

The six-song collection of covers, called “We Hope It Finds You Well,” features versions of ABBA’s “The Visitors,” Wings’ “Let ‘Em in,” The Rolling Stones’ “She’s a Rainbow,” The Association’s “Never My Love,” The Monkees’ “The Porpoise Song” and Rush’s “Spirit of the Radio.”

The EP comes after The Polyphonic Spree released its last full-length album, “Psychophonic,” in 2014.

Perhaps “We Hope It Finds You Well” is a celebration of the band’s 20th birthday, which was supposed to be celebrated this summer. The Polyphonic Spree had planned a private, requests-only concert, but it has been postponed until 2021, according to the event’s Facebook page.
