Grab a bottle of wine and some friends. Lakewood couple Stephanie and Chip Burgard are opening a BYOB art studio in the Hillside Village Shopping Center, next door to the Little Gym, in November.

Stephanie Burgard, who is president of the Lakewood Elementary School PTA, says she visited a similar concept while on a business trip.

“I had such a great time,” she says.

So she did some research, and she and her husband bought a Pinot’s Palette franchise. There are three other stores, all in the Houston area.

The Pinot’s Palette Lakewood calendar is online already. Here’s how it works: Pick a day and time to paint, bring drinks and snacks, and everything else — paint, canvas, brushes, clean-up, instruction — is provided. The two-hour classes cost $35. They also do private parties and corporate events, with a minimum of 15 painters, for $35 and $45 per person for two- and three-hour sessions, respectively.

The studio’s grand opening is Nov. 18. But they’re starting with a soft opening Nov. 10 and 12.
