If you haven’t had a chance to drop by The Heights, the new dining/coffee/bar concept that has taken over Legal Grounds, here’s a peek at the brand new inside.
The new owners who took over Legal Grounds in March — East Dallas neighbors Ricki Derek, Cary Ray and Cary Ballas — made short work of stripping out the old Legal Grounds decor. In June they changed the sign out front and closed for a few days to make some “cosmetic changes” and presto-chango! the place is practically unrecognizable — and also very clean.
The Heights is based on a somewhat European concept in that it does a little bit of everything.
It’s a full-service restaurant that opens in the morning for breakfast, coffee and pastries, then lunch (and still coffee) in the afternoon. Then they close for a couple hours to prepare for dinner. After dinner The Heights operates a full bar until 2 a.m.
