I just got done talking with Penne Pomodoro’s manager, Robert Clayton, about how things have been going at the newest Lakewood dining establishment.  He said that business has been good thus far, pointing out that the dollar mimosas and bellinis during weekend brunch have been a hit.

Asked if the proliferation of Italian restaurants in the neighborhood was cause for concern, Clayton replied, “No, we feel that we offer a different type of Italian.  One day you might be in a Scalini’s mood, the next day you want Pomodoro.  It’s like Coke and Pepsi.”

Clayton made sure to note that for the pasta lovers out there, Penne Pomodoro allows you to combine any of their nine pastas and eight sauces.  Also, for those who miss La Dolce Vita, Pomodoro uses the same charcoal pizza oven.

Penne Pomodoro is open Monday-Friday, 11:00 a.m. to 10 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
