Haven’t had a chance to try Peak & Elm Cocina Y Bar? In December La Popular Tamale House, which has been serving tamales to East Dallas for more than 30 years, merged with Peak & Elm Cocina Y Bar, which is also owned by the Moreno family. La Popular began serving tamales out of the Peak and Elm location, which focuses more on Mexican cuisine.

If you haven’t been by yet, Peak & Elm is hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner, which will feature a three-course menu of salad, braised chicken chocolate-pasilla mole or Mexican garlic red snapper, and strawberry tamales. Guests will also be treated to live music by Woodrow Wilson High School students.

Reservations made by Feb. 5 are $25 per person plus tax and gratuity, and $35 after. The restaurant is located at 132 N. Peak St. Call 214.824.7617.
