I wrote here on Friday that the city had not finished construction on Trammel between Abrams and Fisher, even though work started around St. Patrick’s Day. On Sunday, it was still a mess. On Monday, I entered an on-line complaint in the city’s 311 system and asked someone to call me.

On Monday afternoon, I got a voice mail from a city employee, per my request. On Tuesday afternoon, Trammel was completely blacktopped. This is either a tremendous coincidence, or someone downtown thinks I am more important than I really am. If it’s the former, that’s fine. If it’s the latter, the system may be even more screwed up than I think it is. Work should not be done because someone with an annoying keyboard types a lot. It should be done because it should be done. That’s something that our soon-to-be-elected mayor needs to consider.
