Here is some history about Paperbacks Plus, from a media release:

“The Dallas store started in the Lakewood neighborhood on Abrams Road where the bakery is today. A lost lease took it down to Gaston Avenue in 1984 and a fire saw it move temporarily over to Greenville Avenue in 1993 into the space once occupied by Shakespeare Books which had just closed the month before. It finally found a permanent home the next year in Old East Dallas in the architecturally interesting 2 story building at 6115 La Vista Drive that was built as the area’s original doctors’ and dentists’ office building in the early 50’s.”
