A verbal argument led to a shooting that injured one person Wednesday night in Old East Dallas, authorities said.

The shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in the 5000 block of Terry Street, ABC-affiliate Channel 8 reported.

The victim, who has not been identified, told police 23-year-old William Ramirez became upset, took out a gun and fired, according to the station.

Ramirez was arrested and taken to the Dallas County jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.

The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive, Channel 8 reported.
