The Chief on the Beat Health and Safety Fair, to be held from 10 a.m.-2 p.m at Harry Stone Recreational Center, will feature a number of entertaining and educational activities, and hopefully, connect residents with their neighborhood patrol officers. Last year more than 6,000 attendees participated in the free community-wide event.

Here’s a list of what you’ll find this Saturday:

· free health screening sponsored by Mission East Dallas
· free Thanksgiving dinners sponsored in part by Walmart/Gusthomason Road
· Bubble Soccer sponsored by DFW Metroplex Bubble Ball
· an old school car show
· the Dallas Police Department low rider car and SWAT vehicle
· a Bicycle Rodeo (free helmets for all participants)
· 60 plus vendors
· bounce houses
· Dallas Police Department’s K9 unit, dive team, and helicopter team
· face painting

Plus, In and Out Burger will donate 1000 burgers, chips and drinks for the occasion. Officer Bervin Smith says that volunteers are still needed to help out with the event. To learn how you can lend a hand, call 214.670.7747 or send an email to bervin.smith@dpd.ci.dallas.tx.us.
