The new grocery store on Henderson Avenue opens at 6:30 a.m. with complimentary breakfast, and a free bag of groceries worth $50 for the first 200 customers that make a purchase. So if you’re an early riser who doesn’t mind crowds and lines, you’re in luck.

If you would rather sleep later, or won’t be able to make it to the store until later in the day, don’t worry — a company publicist says the fun, food and great giveaways will continue all day long. The store’s weekly ad, which seemed to have no end of specials, mentions that an outdoor sampling fair lasts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This grocery store, which takes over a former Carnival space (and was mentioned in Jeff Siegel’s February cover story on neighborhood retail) is part of the Sunflower Farmers Market chain, but for some reason, each one of their Texas stores is called Newflower Farmers Market.
