Energy Square, the 14-acre business development along Central Expressway that includes the iconic Meadows Building, is in for a makeover, according to The Dallas Morning News.
The Chicago development firm GlenStar Properties is about to sink $50 million into the complex to unite the buildings and make the area seem more like a campus. The Energy Square towers and Meadows building are currently constructed on three levels, but will be brought to the same level while adding a park and pedestrian-friendly areas.
The new development will also have a fitness club and retail space for the 4,000 people who work in the square.
The Meadows building, built in 1955, was one of Dallas’ first suburban office buildings. The towers were added in the late 1970s and ’80s. The architects at Gensler hope to remake interiors, entrances and bring the buildings from different eras together. Check out plans, pictures, and renderings here.
