A husband-wife team in our neighborhood is hosting the first-annual Dallas Art Affair to spotlight local artists.

The couple, Karl Chiao and Elaine Romero, are hosting the event. Romero is an award-winning designer whose artwork, under the name Addison Sloane, has been sold at local shop Talulah & Hess. Chiao is the executive director of the Dallas Historical Society at the Hall of State in Fair Park.

Their event is set to begin Sept. 25 and lasts until Oct. 9. It will highlight six of Dallas’ up-and-coming artists. Each artist will have no more than five pieces on display and available for purchase.

Romero and artist Rob Joyner have selected Daniela Pasqualini, Jessica Chaix, Julie Dailey and Lavanya Challa as participating artists.

On the event’s debut, the hosts will be serving hors d’oeuvres and drinks.

The opening night event is 7:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m. at Addison Sloane Artworks, 830 Exposition Ave. Suite 102.

Gallery hours are by appointment only after Sept. 25. Contact elaine@elaineromerodesigns.com or call 214-770-6181.
