There’s a long-running joke that every 20-something in East Dallas has spent a stint in The Village on Northwest Highway. The 7,000-apartment complex is one of the largest in North Texas, but may soon get even bigger, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Developer Lincoln Properties Co. has filed for a $40-million project permit to add 300 more units and a parking garage to the north side of the property. A few years back, Lincoln successfully changed the zoning at The Village to allow for higher density at the 300-acre property, with plans to erect mid- and high-rise buildings that could add more than 1,000 additional units, the DMN says.
The developer has not commented on the new project.
