Conservationists fought to keep the old Adamson High School from being demolished and rebuilt. So the DISD Board of Trustees decided to drop the issue and build a new Adamson on adjacent land.

But now the district is planning to demolish an old church — Oak Cliff Christian Church — to build athletic facilities. The church at 10th and Crawford was built in 1905 and designed by the same architects who built the McKinney Avenue church that became the (old) Hardrock Cafe, which was demolished a few years ago. It is one of the oldest churches in Oak Cliff.
