The property at 1600 Old Gate Lane may soon be the home of a new Montessori school, according to a zoning change application.
The applicant, Brytar Companies, plans to develop the property for mixed uses.
The building, built in 1960, was previously a child-care facility. Brytar Companies wants to continue that use while also adding a private elementary school, Guidepost Montessori School.
The school and child-care facility would take up 20,000 square feet of the 36,000-square-foot building. The rest of the space would be available for compatible offices and retail, such as a coffee shop.
The parking lot on the southeast side of the building will be repaved. Guidepost Montessori will also provide a traffic management plan to address traffic flow during pickup and drop-off times.
