Mixtitos Kitchen has officially closed after almost two years in our neighborhood

The Mexican-Japanese fusion restaurant Mixtitos Kitchen has officially closed its doors this week after almost two years in our neighborhood.

Mixtitos Kitchen opened in our neighborhood on July 28, 2022. Advocate first reported on the restaurant’s closing in April of 2024, when it was initially set to close in May. Mixtitos Kitchen was struggling to generate enough business, with owner José Luis Rodriguez and his family turning to the neighborhood for help via social media.

Rodriguez told Advocate back in April that the family-owned restaurant was barely bringing in $600 a day.

After months of struggling to pay rent, Mixtitos Kitchen was evicted on Dec. 3, according to The Dallas Morning News.
