Meow Wolf Grapevine selected a Lakewood artist for its permanent installation, one of several local artists collaborating on the immersive experience.
Mariell Guzman, who is from Monterrey and lives in Lakewood, will be part of Meow Wolf Grapevine when it opens next year.
The other headliners collaborating on the permanent installation: Ricardo Paniagua of Oak Cliff; Carmen Menza, who is represented by Cerulean Gallery in University Park; East Dallas resident Ryan Chen; West Dallas-based Dan Lam; Josh Dodson, who is represented by Ro2 gallery in the Cedars; and Riley Holloway, whose studio is in the Cedars.
The first Meow Wolf opened in Santa Fe in 2008, and there are now outposts in Las Vegas and Denver.
SM Sanz, whose murals light up West Dallas, is also on the bill, along with musicians Black Taffy, Wanz Dover and Teddy Georgia Waggy of Oak Cliff, as well as Alex Bhore of East Dallas, who operates Elmwood Studios, and Cedars resident Mattie.
