Mike Scaccia, a Lakewood resident who played lead guitar for Rigor Mortis and Ministry, died of a heart attack after collapsing on stage during a performance in Fort Worth on Dec. 22. He was 47.
We first heard about his death from Idol Records owner Erv Karwelis. “He was one of the sweetest guys, and one of the greatest guitar players in the world,” Karwelis said of Scaccia.
Scaccia’s memorial service is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, at the Aristide Event Center, 570 N. Walnut Creek Drive, in Mansfield. Friends and family are making donations online to help Scaccia’s wife, Jenny, and their kids.
