Match, a Dallas-based company, wanted to celebrate Black History Month and Valentine’s Day.
So representatives from the business brought treats from Val’s Cheesecakes, a Black-owned dessert shop in our neighborhood, to five Dallas ISD schools to thank staff for their work and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders.
The schools that received cheesecake include three in East Dallas — Solar Preparatory School for Girls, Solar Preparatory School for Boys and Woodrow Wilson High School — plus Young Women’s STEAM Academy and Science and Engineering Magnet High School.
