Longtime East Dallas neighbor and Realtor Mary Poss has been named the new executive director of the Ebby Halliday Foundation.
“I am extremely honored to have the opportunity to help carry out Ebby Halliday’s incredible legacy,” Poss says. “The foundation board is excited that we will have many, many opportunities to make contributions to the city and region in Ebby’s name.”
Poss says she and Halliday became close friends in the 1990s, when they both were working together on community projects. Halliday died in 2015; she was 104.
In the past, Poss has been a Dallas City Council representative for District 9, chair of the North Texas Crime Commission, chair of the Greater East Dallas Chamber of Commerce, chair of the North Central Texas Council of Governments and vice chair of the Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation. She also had a career in commercial banking.
