Starting October 1, Clayton says neighbor Michael Jung will replace Gloria Tarpley as the new Dallas city plan and zoning commissioner for District 9.

Jung is a Harvard Law graduate who works at Strasburger & Price, LLC. He is the chairman of the White Rock Lake Task Force and the president of the Texas Land Conservancy, and this is not his first time to serve on the plan and zoning commission, Clayton points out.

“He’s been really involved at White Rock Lake and how we need to preserve it,” Clayton says. “From a plan side it was really important to me to get people who understand what makes East Dallas unique and what makes our area special. So that’s why I chose him.”

Clayton says Becky Rader will be replacing Gerald Worrall III on the Dallas park and recreation board for District 9 on October 1.

Rader is a wildlife biologist and she serves as the chief naturalist at Dallas Museum of Natural History at Fair Park. She is also a member of the White Rock Lake Task Force.

“Becky is a naturalist and she works at Fair Park, so with my view of White Rock Lake and my desire to keep a park a park, that really appealed to me with her,” Clayton says. “She’s been really instrumental in recognizing Blackland Prairie and sustainability as a member of the White Rock Task Force.”
