Here are a few things to do in East Dallas this weekend.
Spring Equinox Celebration
The Bath House Cultural Center is hosting a spring equinox celebration 1-8 p.m. Saturday.
Below is a schedule of events. Stay throughout the day or for specific activities.
1-2 p.m.: Mitotiliztli Yaoyollohtli (Aztec dance) on the lake level
1-8 p.m.: plants and goods market on the lake level
2:15 p.m., 4:15 p.m.: Master Naturalist Garden Tour at front garden
4:30-5:30 p.m.: Artist talk with Angel Fax at the Black Box Theatre
3-6 p.m.: Family art activities including watercolors in seed paper, collage bookmarks and community cyanotype in the lobby and lake level
7-8 p.m.: Sunset concert with Jess Garland on the lake level
White Rock Creek Trail Clean Up
Friends of the White Rock Creek Trail is hosting clean-up events every Saturday this month, working on a different section of the trail each time.
Tomorrow, the organization will meet at Orbiter Park and walk down to the trail; volunteers can also park in the neighborhood at Vanguard Way and Westrock Drive. Volunteers should sign up here.
The clean-up is expected to last from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Underground MarketÂ
The Underground Market, started by two Woodrow Wilson High School graduates, has markets in Lowest Greenville on Saturday and Sunday. Stop by 5600 Alta Ave. from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, the market is 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at 5700 Oram St.
Dallas BloomsÂ
The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s annual spring festival, Dallas Blooms, continues through April. Two East Dallas residents are co-chairs of the event.
This weekend, the North Texas Cactus and Succulent Society is hosting a cactus show and sale at the main entry plaza. There will also be live music at the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn. More details are available here.
