larryhagmanWhere are my “Dallas” lovers? For those who used to tune into CBS to watch the drama of oil magnate J.R. Ewing unfold, or for those who now tune into TNT to watch the Ewing legacy continue, here’s some news you’ll enjoy. March 11 has been officially declared “Larry Hagman Day.”

With the support of friends of Larry Hagman and “Dallas” castmates, USA Film Festival sent a Proclamation request to Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings, asking that March 11, 2013, be named “Larry Hagman Day” in Dallas, in remembrance of the native Texan and actor who played a big part in giving Dallas its global claim to fame.

The request was honored, which gives you a week to cowboy up for the celebration. Kick the mud (and/or sidewalk dust) off your cowboy boots and hat to wear in honor of the legendary J.R. Help USA Film Festival spread the word by sharing pictures on your Facebook and Twitter. Like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter, and then prepare to enjoy some old-fashioned, Dallas-style fun.

On March 11, the current “Dallas” series on TNT will air a special episode called, “J.R.’s Masterpiece,” which is the J.R. Ewing funeral episode. We can most likely expect to see legions of fans gather to mourn the passing of Larry Hagman as well as to celebrate his life.
