An adult male was swimming in the lake between two unspecified points, Dallas Fire-Rescue media liaison Jason Evans says, when a witness apparently spotted him struggling and called 9-1-1 at about 6 p.m. yesterday.

By the time EMTs arrived, the man had been pulled from the water by a bystander. Paramedics performed CPR but the yet unidentified man was later pronounced dead at Doctors Hospital.

Dallas Police were still investigating the incident last night.

A couple of my running buddies were at the lake when this went down. They witnessed the man being pulled from the lake and, shortly after, EMTs performing CPR. They say he was wearing a bathing suit, but it is still unclear whether he was intentionally going for a swim or if he fell from a boat. Swimming is prohibited in White Rock Lake.
