Our Oak Cliff Advocate reported today that Lucky Dog Books in Oak Cliff will close this spring. The store closest to our neighborhood, however, will remain open, despite a brief scare this morning when the shop did not open (according to Facebook) due to lost keys.
If you read our 2014 cover story about the most comforting, restful places in and around our neighborhood, you know we think hanging at Lucky Dog books is “like coming home” — with its comfy chairs, cozy crannies and paperback-packed, yet supremely organized, shelves and its friendly yet not-meddlesome staff and its trade-books-for-books policy.
Lucky Dog also has a store called Paperbacks Plus in the Mesquite area.
