Carrie Sharp just wanted to find a fun way to get rid of some of her excess artwork when she inadvertently started a neighborhood event last year. As Patti Vinson chronicles in our latest edition, Sharp paints beautifully detailed scenes on river rocks, which she hides in neighborhood parks for children to find, although adults seem to enjoy them as well.

As promised, Sharp is gearing up for Easter with a hunt for rocks with baby chicks, bunnies and other spring scenes. She’ll spend Friday night hiding them around Lakewood. Keep an eye on her Facebook page or the Lakewood, Dallas page – early Saturday morning she’ll post where to search for her fanciful creations.

“This will ensure all the kids have a fair chance to find the rocks,” she says.

All of the rocks are hand-painted and secured in a clear coat to make them weather resistant. Happy hunting!
