Malak Albarghuthi, an eighth-grader at Long, was recognized in the sixth- to eighth-grade category for his piece that says, “Paint the town extraordinary. Ride DART” surrounded by colorful Dallas cityscapes.

Each year, the DART Student Art Contest challenges North Texas students in all grade levels to illustrate an annual theme. This year, artists had to fill in the blank: “Paint the town ____. Ride DART.”

More than 150 schools and organizations submitted nearly 1,200 art entries.

The Dallas Museum of Art has partnered with the DART contest for the past eight contests and has displayed the winning entries. This year, the museum presents them virtually here.
