J.L. Long Middle School is trying to land a grant worth $20,000, and they want your help.
The Shade Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of skin cancer, is offering a grant to the school that does the best job educating its students and community about sun safety. The winner will receive a shade structure worth $20,000.
J.L. Long Middle School has “a critical need for a shade structure to cover picnic tables used each day by students to accommodate for cafeteria overflow,” says spokesperson Amy Fennegan.
The J.L. Long PTA is working to spread the word about sun safety. The Shade Project will monitor how they are doing in large part through online activity. So the PTA, along with J.L. Long students, created the following PSA on sun safety tips. By liking and sharing the video, you can help the school win a shade structure.
