Starting this fall, Hollywood Heights/Santa Monica neighbor Jessica Nichols is filling what she sees as a void in the community — a place for creative and cultural arts for small children in the Lakewood-East Dallas area.
Nichols is opening Le’ Ballet: Children’s School for the Arts in East Dallas this October.
She and her husband have three children under the age of five, and she’s launching the small “by mom for mom” business because she “wanted a place families could introduce the arts to their children in a non-invasive, non-competitive way,” Nichols says. “Sure, there are options, but nothing in one place, no wait listing, no competition, and reasonable prices.”
It will be a stand-alone school, but Le’ Ballet is also partnering with other local schools — The Learning Tree, Northlake Baptist Church, Heavenly Christian Academy and Kid Kountry — to provide in-school ballet, tumbling, and art classes.
“Overall, I would like to see this program grow especially within preschools where parents need reduced tuition rates, or aren’t able to take their children to our school because of work or transportation issues,” she says.
Le’ Ballet will also offer a full range of adult fitness classes with childcare provided, venue rental and a partnership with The Gem juice shop.
Enrollment is open now. Classes begin Oct. 1 with an open house on Oct. 3. Le’ Ballet is located at 2613 N. Carroll. Go to the website or the Facebook page to learn more.
