This past weekend the “Mayor of Lakewood", Al See,  announced that the theme for 48th annual Lakewood Fourth of July parade is “Lakewood’s Got Talent.”

That means there’s less than a month to get crackin’ on that parade float stage you’ve always wanted to build, dig up that popstar garb from the corner of the closet, and practice that Miss America wave if you want to have a shot at one of the parade’s float or costume awards.

The parade kicks off at 10a.m. at the intersection of Lakewood and Cambria and ends at the Tokalon tennis courts.  Refreshments, music, and the award show will be at the tennis courts as parade-entrants and parade-watchers have a chance to mingle.  Who knows, maybe you can meet a budding superstar before they start dominating television screens nationwide.
