Editor’s note (10:30 a.m. June 16): According to a spokesperson for the City of Dallas, the leak was due to corrosion on a pipe installed in 1928. Over the years, five breaks have occurred at this intersection — four in the last seven years and one this week. The city is currently designing replacement plans of this waterline.

Yesterday’s water leak at Oram Street and Alderson Street has been remedied for the time being.

Around 10 a.m. June 14, water was seen rushing into the streets surrounding Lakewood Tower and Caddo Office Reimagined. Water access for the two buildings was quickly shut off as crews arrived to assess the issue.

As the day went on, work crews dug into the asphalt and worked on repairing the road. We are still waiting to receive confirmation from the city regarding what exactly caused the problem.

Today office occupants returned to work and found the road patched and dry. Water has been turned on for the time being.

The City of Dallas has not confirmed if more work will be done at the site.
