One of the most recent business investments the owners of the Times Ten Cellars made was to buy the Lakewood Family Dental Care building right around the corner on Oram St.
Times Ten Cellars co-owner Kert Platner said the purchase was a strategic move to keep from losing parking and access to the winery. The dental office, which has been around since 1947, will still remain in business.
“They’re staying in the neighborhood,” Platner says. “They’re going to be there as long as they want.”
As for Times Ten Cellars, the commercial kitchen in the back of the building will now be the hub for catering to guests if they’re hosting a private event. Platner noted they just received the catering license about a month ago.
In the past, events hosted at Times Ten Cellar would have needed an outside caterer to take care of guests’ food needs.
“Now we’re going to take care of that ourselves,” Platner says. “If you’re hosting an event here you can still use an outside caterer or, ideally, you can now use us.”
