A group of Kiest Elementary School parents that wants principal Carolyn Lewis fired is unsatisfied with steps DISD has taken to remedy their complaints. The parents, who call themselves "Los Padres", have several public protests planned.

After the parents met with DISD superintendant Michael Hinojosa a few weeks ago, the school district made some administrative changes at the school. Assistant principal Gina Galvagni was removed, but principal Lewis will stay on staff with the help of a job coach.

Some parents dislike Lewis because they say she is not interested in students and that she is mean to them. Parents say the principal won’t allow them into the school, and that she only allows students two bathroom breaks per day, among other complaints.

The parents say they will protest every day until Lewis is fired.

Here is the schedule they released:

4/19-4/23 – Protest @ 2:50 – until (Location: Public sidewalk)

4/22 – Protest @ 2:50 pm (Location: Public sidewalk)

March @ 4:25 pm  to Harry Stone Recreation Center (Location: Public sidewalk)

Parents will be bussed to the school board meeting at 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm

Press Conference @ 5:30-6:15 (Location: Dallas I.S.D. Admin. Bldg.)

          School Board Meeting @ 5:30 – until

Protest @ 8:30 pm – until (Location: Dallas Admin. Bldg.)
