The home at 700 Dumas St. is one of four winners of the Residential Renovation and Adaptive Reuse projects in Dallas. JM Management Construction Solutions helped with the renovation.

The others are in the Tenth Street Historic District, the Cedars and the Lake Cliff Historic District.

The two commercial and historic resource renovation projects in Dallas being honored this year are the Magnolia Petroleum Building in the East Quarter of Downtown Dallas and the Pegasus sign atop the Magnolia Hotel.

Along with the Dallas winners, projects in Denton and Collin counties are also being recognized.

“We are excited about the regional response we got for this year’s awards, including submissions from four counties in the Dallas area,” Norman Alston, the president of Preservation Dallas, said in a release. “It demonstrates that the culture of preservation is not only strong in our city, but a growing movement across our region.”

Preservation Dallas, founded in 1972, works to preserve and revitalize historic buildings, neighborhoods and places. It hosts regular events, including an upcoming home tour.

Previous winners of the organization’s preservation achievement awards include the Marcus House and Green House on Swiss Avenue, the Bella Villa apartments and Bowlski’s at the Lakewood Theater.

The 24th Annual Preservation Achievement Awards ceremony will be held May 17 at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum. Special Achievement Award recipients will be announced at a later date.
