I patroninzed Bailey’s 1st and 10 last night with some dads from my kid’s school. Sitting down the way were many members of the new SMU Football coaching staff. Apparently they frequent the joint and June Jones himself has been a patron.
1st and 10 is something interesting. The beer is cold, the food is good and the "point burger" is close to perfection. It is in a strip next to a department store and fitness center. The patrons are a healthy mix of families, dad’s hanging out, mom’s groups as well as the older "Cheers" regulars where everyone knows their names. It should not work, but it not only succeeds, it thrives and is always crowded.
Borderline neighborhood gem…….
