John Fish, who started work at Woodrow today, will also become the new athletic coordinator for the school.

Fish was previously the associate head football coach and offensive coordinator at Lone Star High School in Frisco ISD.

Before Lone Star, Fish was the head football coach at Bonham High School, where he led the team to record its most wins since 2001 and the longest winning streak since 1992.

“My family and I are so excited for the opportunity to serve and lead Woodrow Wilson athletics and football team into the next chapter,” Fish said in a statement. “We will build and grow championship-level student-athletes that will not only be elite on the field, but most importantly, in the classroom and in our community.”

Woodrow’s last coach, Tony Benedetto, was announced as the new coach at Plano East earlier this year.
