Attention: JL Long needs your vote!

A group of creative JL Long middle school students secured a spot in tomorrow’s big Comerica New Year’s Day Parade. Only ten entries from all DISD middle schools were selected, so these kids are a pretty big deal.

Professionals constructed the 10 student-designed floats for tomorrow’s big show—it should be an awesome experience seeing a plan on paper turn into big-time parade float reality.  Plus, the kids get to ride their floats in the procession —how cool is that?

But that’s just the beginning. Parade goers and TV viewers will be able to vote for their favorite float during the nationally televised parade and the winning school will score $20,000 from the parade’s title sponsor, Comerica Bank.

Have a look at the designs here — the "All Roads Lead Home" belongs to Long.

Props to the art teacher Ms. Soniat who sponsored the winning team and all the students involved.

And most importantly, one more time, don’t forget to vote for "All Roads Lead Home"— details here.
