J. L. Long Middle School is looking for substitute teachers, says Principal Danielle Petters.
“Currently, districtwide there is an extremely high number of teacher vacancies and I still have five,” she explained. “Im trying to prepare for worst-case scenario — opening school with some vacancies still not filled — and think having quality subs who are committed to our school would be a viable Plan B.”
She’s hoping to recruit substitute teachers from among the J. L. Long parents and community. “We have a lot of parents who have taught previously or have experience in education,” she says.
