Was doing my walking the other day, and saw someone had hung a a couple of strings of garlic — a lot of garlic — by their front door. Can anyone tell me if this has any significance, other than to ward off vampires, werewolves and the like? Is there some sort of Southern or Texan hospitality symbol here than a transplanted Chicagoan, despite his best intentions, doesn’t know about? Or is someone just drying garlic?
