It’s official: Woodrow Wilson High School is an International Baccalaureate World School. The school received its letter of approval from the International Baccalaureate last week and will begin offering IB programming in the fall.

International Baccalaureate offers programs that give students “a truly international education” aimed at giving them a leg up for college.

From the IB website: “Life in the 21st century, in an interconnected, globalized world, requires critical-thinking skills and a sense of international-mindedness, something that International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme students come to know and understand.”

J.L. Long Middle School also is working toward becoming an IB school. Long is expected to submit its application by the end of the month.
