Later this month, on July 28, East Dallas recording company Idol Records will release the album “Decade of Downtime” from The Hundred Inevitables, which has been in the works for more than a decade (hence the name) and features members of The O’s, Deep Blue Something, Little Black Dress and Calhoun.

The Hundred Inevitables is a product of the vibrant Dallas-Fort Worth music scene. Toby Pipes, who fronts the band as lead singer and piano player, toured the world in the 90s as a guitarist for Deep Blue Something. He also released records with Brooklyn-based musician and Inevitables’ bass player Nolan Thies as Little Black Dress. Pipes currently plays with the Fort Worth band Calhoun.

Taylor Young plays drums in the band, and is also with The O’s, who’ve put out three records and toured internationally since 2008.

Jeff Whittington, who plays guitar in the band, is a public radio and television producer at the Dallas-Fort Worth NPR and PBS affiliate KERA. In 2013, Whittington released his second solo record.

Decade Of Downtime was produced by Grammy Award-winner Stuart Sikes.
