The business announced the news on its Facebook page, saying the staff at its shop and all of the neighboring businesses on Garland Road are safe.

A spokesperson for Dallas Fire-Rescue said in an email that firefighters were assigned to the call at 4:13 p.m. When they arrived at the business, they saw smoke and fire coming from the back of the pie shop. It was there where they saw a fire behind and moving into the building. Using handlines, they were able to put out the fire within an hour.

Two people were inside when the fire started; one of them saw the flames outside and called it in to 911.

The fire damaged part of the kitchen, and smoke damaged the rest of the shop. Cheesecake Royale, located at 9018 Garland Road, had minor damage because of the fire. But the spokesperson for Dallas Fire-Rescue said the damage shouldn’t force the shop to close.

The cause of the fire is undetermined.

Humble was opened in 2018 by husband-wife duo Sean and Erin Jett, who spent a decade planning for the business before it launched.
