The Dallas Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred Monday morning at the Lupita Cafe on Oates Road.

Police arrived at the restaurant at 2316 Oates Road around 2:19 a.m. Monday, according to the DPD Beat. They found the victim, 43-year-old Jesus Canales, lying dead in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

Witnesses told the police the suspected shooter fled the restaurant in a dark grey or charcoal pickup truck.
