Thursday is Woodrow’s Homecoming parade, beginning at 5 p.m. The parade will include parts of Paulus, Abrams, and Swiss Avenue. There will be a community pep rally after the parade in the field behind the school with Burger House, Mexico Lindo and Kona Ice. This year’s Grand Marshall is former city councilman and Woodrow Alumn Gary Griffith. After the parade, stay and shop at area businesses for special Wildcat discounts. The Homecoming football game will be Friday night at 7:30 p.m. at Franklin Field against Adamson High School. Tickets are $10.

Discover the most eclectic art studios and artists in neighborhoods near White Rock Lake during the 25th annual White Rock Studio Tour. The tour highlights more than 50 creative minds around the lake on Saturday and Sunday, and is free.
Woodrow Fest is a fundraiser for scholarships awarded to standout Woodrow Wilson students by the Exchange Club of East Dallas onSaturday night from 6 to 11 p.m. There will be performances by Whiskey Pants and Getaway Driver, a raffle and a silent auction. Tickets are $30 online and $40 at the door, and include pizza and two beers.
Once per quarter, 100 Men Who Give a Damn get together and each member pledges a minimum of $100 to the organization chosen by the group. Three charities will make a short presentation and a vote will be taken. After a vote, the winner is awarded a check. They will meet on Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. at Bar Louie, 8166 Park Lane.
The Bath House Cultural Center will host DÃa de los Muertos: The Path of Winged Souls, an exhibition that includes traditional and contemporary works of art that celebrate the Day of the Dead. This show runs from Oct. 14 to Nov. 11. A reception with the artist will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m., with live music by Jacco Velarde. All events are are free and open to the public.
The Dallas Arboretum’s Cool Thursday concerts continue this week with San Antonio Lights, A Tribute to Journey NEW. The gates open at 6 p.m., and the concert begins at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets start at $10 – $27.
Interfaith Family Services will host a pre-demo sale to clear space and raise money for their new Family Empowerment Center. The addition will include a childcare center and an adult education center to help working families in crisis before they become homeless. The sale is from 8:30 a.m. to noon this Saturday.
Dallas Water Utilities and the Dallas County Master Gardeners will teach neighbors to create beautiful landscapes while being environmentally friendly. The 23rd annual Water-Wise Landscape Tour will highlight water saving techniques for residential landscapes, schools and demonstration gardens around Dallas. The tour is on Saturday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and begins at the White Rock Pump Station.
Ghouls and Graveyards opens at the Dallas Children’s Theater this Friday the 13th. The Teen Scene Players from the Academy program at Dallas Children’s Theater (DCT) will perform the works of Edgar Allan Poe, W. W. Jacobs, and Texas ghost stories. The show will run through Oct. 29, and will be at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, with a Sunday matinee at 1:30 p.m. Tickets are $16.
C. C. Young’s Wellness Fair will be Saturday with a focus on Active Aging. The wellness fair will include organizations, vendors, and social clubs to join that offer senior health resources. The event will be at The Point at C.C. Young from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and is free.

Craft Beer Cellar’s one-year anniversary is this weekend. On Friday, The Proper Baking Co. will be there at 5 p.m. cooking British baked goods to pair with the wide selection of beers, and Saturday will have Window to the Wild  on the patio with birds from 3 to 6 p.m. All proceeds benefit Window to the Wild, a nonprofit bird rescue and education program.
Art House Dallas will be celebrating its seventh anniversary at the Museum of Biblical Art on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. There will be a pop-up art gallery, readings and performances from local artists. Food from Bolsa and alcohol from Lakewood Brewing Company and One Hope will be part of the celebration as well. Tickets are $49-$79.
Tuesday night form 4 Â to 10 p.m., dine at Lakewood Smokehouse and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Lipscomb Elementary PTA.
