Actually, with all due credit, Lincoln Properties Company is responsible for replacing the clock above The Dixie House in Lakewood Shopping Center.

About a year and a half after Lincoln took it down in August of 2013, we’re finally seeing some progress with Lincoln’s promise to repair and replace the old clock. Although it looks like they’re still working on replacing the numbers, a crew was out this morning putting the clock hands up.

Back in 2013, we first heard the clock wouldn’t be replaced at all, which caused a Lakewood-sized uproar on Lincoln’s residential/multi-family Facebook page. (You know how we get sometimes. Sorry, not sorry.)

The next morning Lincoln responded via Facebook, saying the clock was “not being removed,” rather it was “being repaired.”

In October we gently reminded Lincoln that we hadn’t forgotten its promise to replace the clock.

And today, amid lots of construction on the Lakewood Shopping Center, Lincoln took the first step towards replacing the old clock.
