More fried chicken is coming to East Dallas. Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken is set to open in Deep Ellum later this summer. The Tennessee-based fried chicken chain will open at 2904 Commerce St. at the corner of Malcolm X Boulevard, as originally reported by CultureMap Dallas.
Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken will offer spicy, crispy chicken for which the restaurant has become known. They will also offer traditional Southern sides like fried okra, baked beans, macaroni and cheese and potato salad.
The Dallas location will mark the fourth in Texas, with other locations in Fort Worth, Houston and Austin.

Gus’s is among several fried chicken restaurants opening in the neighborhood this summer, along with Palmer’s Hot Chicken and Lucky’s Hot Chicken.
An opening date has not been released.
